Finance Officer
The Legal Aid Society of Eastern Virginia, (LASEV), seeks a Finance Officer to be a key member of our management team and have direct responsibility for the firm’s accounting and financial operations. This is a full-time position located in our Norfolk office. Founded in 1966, LASEV is a nonprofit public interest law firm serving low-income clients in a variety of civil legal matters. A passion for justice and a commitment to poverty law is a must. Excellent benefits package including health/dental/vision, disability and retirement benefits.
Requirements:
- Certified Public Accountant with at least 5 years of experience, preferably with a non-profit.
- Demonstrated financial management and accounting experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required; experience with SAGE a plus.
- Desire to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment that often requires multi-tasking and flexibility while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

Norfolk Staff Attorney
The Legal Aid Society of Eastern Virginia, (LASEV), seeks a staff attorney for our Norfolk, Virginia office location, serving the cities of Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach. Founded in 1966, LASEV is a non-profit public interest law firm serving low-income clients in a variety of civil legal matters. A passion for justice and a commitment to poverty law is a must. Must be either a member of the Virginia State Bar in good standing, eligible to waive in as a Virginia Legal Aid Counsel by having at least two years’ experience in good standing in another state bar, or sitting for the July 2024 Virginia bar exam. This position is within our Disability Rights Unit/Homeless Outreach Program (DRU/HOP) unit, located in our Norfolk office.
